About Us
The Buffalo Center Historical Society had its first meeting in 2007, at the BC Library with 11 people present. The first year went rapidly with many projects moving along at the same time. It was evident that there was much support in the area for preserving the history as well as enjoying it. Membership has grown and projects have become larger but the group works well together and has a great time.
Come join us! You are always welcome and can participate as much or as little as you would like. Drop us a line if you have questions about joining!
Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Buffalo Center Historical Society to education, preserve and promote understanding of the cultural, social and human history of Buffalo Center and surrounding areas. In pursuit of this mission, the Society will gather and preserve anything of historical relevance to the area. The Society will use public display and programming to further the cultural atmosphere of northern Iowa and historical awareness of our citizens.
Meetings
Our meetings are on the 2nd Sunday of every month at 4 PM in Heritage Museum (in the Heritage Town Center).
